hair remedies

well i have seen a lot of boys try to do everything to keep a sexy afro........... and i have seen even more girls cry out for a long and full hair. try these tips and you are sure to notice a difference so ''hair'' we go! *winks*

1. Scalp Massage and hot oil treatment

Massaging your scalp helps improve circulation and hence stimulates hair growth, and you only need to do it for about five minutes daily to see results. Just rub your fingers on your scalp in a circular motion, applying gentle pressure and kneading occasionally to open up the blood vessels and increase blood flow.
Massaging can also be combined with a hot oil treatment once or twice a week. Heat some coconut or olive oil in a microwave or a double-boiler. Heating it will help it penetrate the hair shaft easily and also reduce dandruff.

Put the hot oil on your hair and comb it through to ensure even distribution and reduce breakage during shampooing. Wear a plastic cap or wrap a warm towel around your head (use a hair dryer to heat the towel) and leave it on for at least half an hour before shampooing.
Another popular tip is to flip your hair upside down for two to four minutes daily..

2. castor oil

Castor oil facilitates hair growth because it is rich in omega-9 fatty acids and vitamin E. The thick oil moisturizes your hair, adds volume, prevents frizzing, and also fights scalp infections.
  • It is best to mix castor oil with an equal amount of a base oil to get a better consistency and enhance the benefits. Rub it on your scalp and massage. Leave it on for 30 to 45 minutes. Finally, rinse it out and shampoo your hair. If it is difficult to remove, use a clarifying shampoo.
  • To make it more effective, mix four drops of rosemary essential oil in an ounce of castor oil and then use it on your hair and scalp.

3. eggs

Hair is made up of keratin protein and eggs are a great source of protein. Thus, they are highly beneficial in helping your hair grow.
home remedy for hair growth
  • Whisk two egg yolks and mix in two tablespoons of olive oil. Apply the mixture on your scalp and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse it out with cold water and then shampoo your hair as usual.
Alternatively, mix one egg and one-quarter cup each of plain yogurt and mayonnaise in a blender. Apply this hair mask and cover your hair with a shower cap. Leave it on for at least half an hour before rinsing it out.

4. lemon juice

Lemons are rich in vitamin C and vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, folic acid, and other nutrients. Plus, they are loaded with antioxidants. In addition to hair growth, lemon juice promotes smooth, shiny, dandruff-free hair. When applied on the scalp, it stimulates circulation and hence prevents hair loss. Do not use lemon juice in excess though, as it can lighten your hair color over time.
  1. Mix one part lemon juice and two parts of coconut or olive oil.
  2. Apply it on your hair and scalp and leave it on for 30 to 45 minutes.
  3. Wash it out and then shampoo your hair with a mild shampoo.
Repeat once or twice a week.

5 home remedies for black heads and pimples - part 2

this is from another site and, i think, faster

1.) Apply Tomatoes to Remove Blackheads Overnight from Nose and Face

  • The antiseptic properties in the tomato are effective in de-clogging your pores and to get rid of blackheads.
  • Mash the tomato and use its juice and peel as a facial treatment.
  • You have to concentrate on areas (Nose & Face) where the blackheads are found.
  • If possible, let it stay overnight on your face. This tomato treatment will dry up blackheads.
  • This will make blackheads naturally fall off from the surface of the skin.

2.) Use Lemon to Get Rid of Blackheads Overnight From Nose and Face

  • It is also known to have antiseptic and antioxidant properties, the lemon makes it a popular home remedy to get rid of blackheads from the nose and face.
  • Since lemon is quite acidic, dilute its juice in small amount of water to not irritate skin.
  • Add salt to the mixture to make it more effective. Apply the mixture to the face and nose.
  • Leave it overnight and wash it in the morning with lukewarm water.
  • The salt and the natural acid capability of the lemon, make a perfect combination in drying up blackheads.
  • Instantly, you will feel that your blackheads are lessened. Your skin will be more clean and glowing.

3.) Apply Egg and Honey to Get Rid of Blackheads Overnight

  • You can create an effective blackhead removal paste by mixing the whites of the raw egg and honey.
  • You will apply this all over the face, concentrating on the area of the nose where the blackheads are visible.
  • Leave the paste for thirty minutes or until your face feels tight. Rinse the paste very well using warm water.
  • This treatment will remove your blackheads.
  • Also, your face will be clear, and glowing after you have done this natural treatment.

4.) Get Rid of Blackheads Overnight with Sugar and Honey Face Pack

  • Mix enough amount of sugar to honey to create a natural facial scrub.
  • After cleansing the face, use the sugar-honey mix to scrub the nose and other areas of the face where the blackheads are visible.
  • The scrub will slough off the dead skin that will permit the blackheads to surface.
  • Once your blackheads have surfaced, it is now easier to be removed from the skin.
  • This is an effective way to remove blackheads from nose and face.

5.) Get Rid of Blackheads with Use of Lemon and Sugar Mixture

  • Squeeze small amount of lemon juice to brown or white sugar until it forms a thick mixture.
  • You may use this combination to scrub the nose and the face when removing blackheads.
  • The sugar balances the acid in lemon, while the lemon juice lessens the roughness in sugar.
Together, they create an effective facial scrub that removes blackheads and other blemishes in the face.

5 home remedies for blackheads and pimples

A very good friend of mine said she needed this, so here we go!

1. The land of milk and honey (or yogurt)
While there is quite a bit of hub bub around dairy products causing acne, applied topically it seems that milk can improve your outbreaks and skin tone. .
You will need…
- 1 tablespoon plain low-fat or full-fat yogurt or milk, anything but skim
- 1 tablespoon of natural, raw, honey
Directions
Let yogurt or milk come to room temperature (or close to) so you don’t get a chilly shock when you put it on your skin. Mix 1 tablespoon of milk or yogurt thoroughly with 1 tablespoon of honey. You can apply the mixture with a cotton pad, but scooping it up and patting it on works just fine as well. Let each layer dry before adding a new one, until the mask is the thickness you want. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Wash your mask off and use a washcloth to gently scrub in a circular motion, getting rid of loosened dead skin. Once you’re finished, moisturize as usual.

2. Whip up some ‘whites
Egg whites are an easy and affordable way to help reduce acne and fade scars left by unfortunate blemishes.
You will need…
-2 to 3 egg whites, separated from yolks
-Bowl
-Washcloth
Directions
Rinse your face with water and pat dry. Separate the whites from the yolks. You can use as many as you like, but normally 2 to 3 is enough. Whisk the whites until they’re frothy, and let them sit for a few minutes. Cover your face with the mixture (applying with fingertips is easy) focusing on problem spots. 3 to 4 layers is usually enough, but make sure to wait the first has dried before applying more. Allow the mask to sit and dry for about 20 minutes before rinsing off completely with warm water and a patting dry with a soft washcloth. Apply moisturizer appropriate for your skin type.

3. Whip up some ‘whites
Egg whites are an easy and affordable way to help reduce acne and fade scars left by unfortunate blemishes. The reason people have found egg whites to be helpful for their skin is because they’re chock full of proteins and vitamins that both combat acne, and help to rebuild your skin cells. They also soak up excess oil, which means excess sebum, (exactly what you were thinking right?) which means less stuff for bacteria to feed on. Hooray! Just make sure to use a good moisturizer afterwards, as they can dry your skin out a bit.
4. Papaya for the pimple prone
Papaya is an essential ingredient in a lot of beauty products on the market today, but theres no need to go out of your way to gain its benefits? Plain raw papaya is an all-natural acne remedy that removes dead skin cells and excess lipids from the surface of the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Lipids are a general term for fats, of which oil is a form of. Papaya also contains an enzyme called papain, which reduces inflammation and helps prevent the pus from forming.
You will need…
-1 fresh papaya
Directions
Rinse your face with water and pat dry. Mash up the flesh of the papaya well, until it is of a consistency that can be easily applied to your skin. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes, and then rinse off completely with warm water. If your skin has a tendency to get dry after you cleanse it, use a moisturizer appropriate for your skin type afterwards.

5. Make an orange peel paste
Ah, oranges. They taste rejuvenating and refreshing, and our skin may find them just as appealing as our taste buds do. Acne that is caused by bacteria and extra oil/dead skin cells clogging up pores may improve with the use of an orange peel face mask of sorts, thanks to the vitamin C, citric acid, and it’s astringent properties. The vitamin C is particularly helpful because it promotes the growth of new healthy cells, keeping your skin in better condition overall.
You will need…
-2 Orange peels
-Clean, fresh water
Directions
Rinse your face with water and pat dry. Grind/pound up your orange peels (you could use a blender, mortar and pestle, whatever gets the job done) and add a little water to create a paste. Add a little at a time, as too much will make it too thin and runny. Once you have the right consistency, apply it to your face and/or problem areas. Wait for 20-25 minutes. Ideally the mask should be firm, but it can still work if it isn’t. Rinse off completely with water, pat your face dry, and apply a good moisturize.

Good Luck!
